David Howman: NBA officers should accept additional drug testing

The director general of the WADA David Howman claims that the National Basketball Association (NBA) anti-doping program is not sophisticated enough to catch those that administer forbidden substances. He notes that drug testing conducted in the NBA is not appropriate. While the NFL and the MLB agreed to accept additional tests, the NBA didn’t agree to do the same things.
Derrick Rose, a former basketball player, also claimed that a lot of NBA players applied steroids and other related medications. This sport is not clean, according to Derrick Rose. It is believed that David Howman’s opinion connected with administration of steroids in the NBA is resulted from words pronounced by Derrick Rose.
The NBA doesn’t desire to adopt its anti-doping policy to that of the WADA. The NBA officers note that steroids and other related preparations don’t have capacity to influence on games and make them unfair. They confirm that just natural abilities and trainings play role in the NBA. According to NBA officers, steroids and other performance-enhancing drugs can’t enhance performance of basketball players. They say that doping products don’t benefit this sport.
Do NBA officers have a correct opinion? Aren’t steroids and other performance-enhancing drugs capable to increase performance of those who play basketball? What do facts manifest? What do scientific journals affirm about effects of steroids and other related medications?
Actually, everyone knows that steroids and several other products benefit in any sport. They just should be applied properly and accompanied by suitable diets and workouts. These drugs play significant role in sports. It is impossible to doubt about effectiveness of steroids and other doping products in basketball. Statements of NBA officers are ridiculous.
Undoubtedly, any league wants to think that their sport is not tainted. Nevertheless, it is necessary to see the reality. That’s why the director general of the WADA claims that it is important to conduct more and more sophisticated drug testing in order to catch those who apply banned preparations.
