Usage of anabolic steroids and some other preparations is prohibited in numerous sports organizations, including the Major League Baseball (MLB). Sportspersons that are caught using banned drugs are sentenced to suspensions, fines, etc. However sportspersons know about these factors, many of them continue applying anabolic steroids and/or other forbidden drugs. Thus, a fake website was created. An advertisement for a contaminated supplement was posted. But the cheat was unmasked. Melky Cabrera had to serve the suspension.
While he was suspended, the San Francisco Giants saw that they could win without him.
Recently Melky Cabrera obtained a $16 million contract. Melky Cabrera will play for the Toronto Blue Jays.
As you see, usage of steroids couldn’t destroy the athletic career of the Dominican baseball player. He continues to play baseball professionally and earn significant sums of money.
This is only an example that shows that usage of banned products doesn’t affect athletic careers in certain situations.
