Operation Gilde in Norway is not finished yet

Norwegian police have busted a large doping ring. More than 10 individuals connected with illegal actions were arrested. Six individuals were sentenced to imprisonment.
According to reports of the newspaper Dagens N?ringsliv (DN), the doping ring was set in Trondheim. DN presented own investigation related to illicit sale of anabolic steroids in Norway. Police investigated the case.
It is suggested that a secret center is located in Trondheim. It administrates illicit sale of doping medicines and money laundering.
The arrested persons were related to bodybuilding, fitness and health industries in Norway. Some persons were arrested at their homes; others – in business offices, car lots and tram stops.
Police suggest that several persons are hidden by the names of Guru and Karma.
Robert Eilertsen belongs to those who have been arrested. He is a manager and editor of a fitness blog. He coached celebrated sportspeople within football, boxing, handball, etc.
It is suspected that Eilertsen and several other individuals have provided dangerous doping preparations to Norwegian youth during several years.
Circa 60 police officers were implicated in raids. The raids caused 11 arrests.
Since the investigation continues, police officers don’t announce about their further actions.
Norwegian customs officers and tax authorities assisted the investigation.
Numerous computers and several documents were confiscated during raids of homes, business officers, cars, etc.
Eilertsen and Gunnar Strand Jacobsen, another arrested individual, have denied their connections with doping medications. Jacobsen is the owner of Kaliber Gym in Trondheim, one of the most well-known gyms in Norway. Jacobsen was personal trainer of sportspersons that wined prizes. He coached sportspersons that attended to different sports. Jacobsen is claimed to be an experienced nutrition expert.
The raid was called “Operation Gilde”.
Eilertsen and Jacobsen are charged with sale of doping drugs and money laundering.

International drug ring was busted in Spain

Spain’s police officers arrested Scott Boote, a person, who was implicated in illegal operations linked with an international drug ring producing stimulants that enhance sexual desire. Large measures of medications were seized by police. It was estimated the street value of these drugs. It was claimed that it was almost ?3 million. A citizen of the UK, a 72-year-old man from Liverpool, was also questioned. According to reports of police officers, these two persons manufactured eight new sexual stimulants and sold them via internet without examining patients. Six other persons were also questioned during this investigation. Investigators noted that the persons that were implicated in this illicit drug ring got cars and another property due to distribution of illegal sex products. Some bank accounts were blocked by police officers. More than 100,000 dosages of anabolic steroids, properties and cars were seized.
A spokesperson for Spanish police affirmed that all members of the drug ring lived very luxuriously. They possess numerous properties and luxury cars. They got properties abroad in order to hide the illegal business. Investigators defined that the ring offered for sale sexual medications for both men and women. The medicines were sold per internet. Persons from the whole world could purchase the preparations. Thus, people from the USA, the UK, Thailand, Malaysia, etc. were customers who obtained drugs from this ring. Three factories functioned in Costa del Sol. Investigators suggest that those that were manufacturing the medicines didn’t have needed knowledge for this purpose. According to them, the persons who were involved in the drug ring created also legal business in order to hide the illicit one. They tried to provide legitimate appearance to illegal actions. Their profits were masked by other legal commercial companies.
Police officers also found boxes that had to be sent to customers. Anabolic steroids were also included in the drugs seized by police officers. Packages, labels and leaflets were also found in possession of the arrested persons.

Steroids are blamed for hitting in face

Although it is not yet displayed scientifically whether uncontrolled aggressiveness is an unwanted result of steroids, these preparations are blamed for certain crimes quite often.
Michael Barton, a man from Britain, hit a Ford Fiesta, while he was driving his Volkswagen Golf. Paul Gard was driving the Ford Fiesta. Barton had passed Paul Gard. But then Michael Barton had to pull back in front of him, since another vehicle was driving the other way. Paul Gard flashed him. So, he had to brake suddenly. Barton became raging, stopped his Volkswagen Golf, broke the wing mirror of Gard’s vehicle and hit the man in the face. Then Gard’s wife took her mobile and informed police. While she was calling, Barton drove off calmly.
Michael Barton, a 21-year-old man that has a son of two years old, applies steroids to bulk up. Thus, it has been said that these substances affected his behavior. The defense attorney for this young man confirmed that steroids influenced negatively on temperament of his client, since these preparations enhanced his levels of testosterone.
Previously Barton was convicted for certain crimes, including domestic violence. Last year he pleaded guilty to an assault, criminal damage and driving incautiously due to his anger following assaults.
Patrick Hooton, the judge, affirmed that he was not sure that steroids were responsible for his improper behavior. But he added that it was completely mad to get raging and hit a person in the face only because he flashed him. The judge confirmed that Barton’s behavior was too disgraceful and he announced: “you ought to go to prison”.
So, Michael Barton was given 6-month jail sentence suspended for a year; he was also enforced to pay 500 dollars in compensation and ?277 for damage of Paul Gard’s Ford Fiesta.

New findings related to detection of testosterone use

Sportspersons become more and more sophisticated in usage of steroids. They study new methods to hide their usage of prohibited preparations. Several sportspersons spend time studying scientists’ conclusions which can help them to hide that they dope. Today a way has been found: sportspersons can mask usage of testosterone by drinking of green tea.
Testosterone is a hormone which is produced in body naturally. So, it can be difficult for anti-doping organizations to define that a sportsperson has taken testosterone. T: E ratio testing is commonly used by anti-doping agencies. Such tests can display uncommon ratio of testosterone to epitestosterone in urine. But it is not able to manifest difference between testosterone that has been created in body naturally and that introduced into body with the help of injections, creams, etc.
Declan Naughton and his colleagues at Kingston University ( London) have determined that green tea contains such compounds that are called “catechins”. They have capacity to inhibit the enzyme UGT2B17. This enzyme promotes joining glucuronic acid to testosterone. In case UGT2B17 is inhibited, less testosterone glucoronide is excreted in urine.
Catechins, the compounds that are able to mask administration of testosterone, are in green and white tea. Black tea lacks such compounds.
Naughton and his colleagues have conducted several experiments. They claim that a cup of strong green tea mask application of testosterone.
So, those sportspeople who use testosterone may decrease amounts of testosterone excreting in urine by consumption of green or white tea. Green or white tea can block excretion of testosterone, enhancing circulating levels of this hormone.
The World Anti-Doping Agency was informed about the findings by the scientists. If this process occurs, it is worthless to subject sportspersons to urine tests. Blood tests must be performed in order to detect usage of testosterone.
Olivier Rabin, the WADA’s specialist, confirms that regular checks of blood steroids will be added. Everything will be done by anti-doping agencies in order to avoid fooling of urine tests.

Although bottles sent to Wim Vansevenant were marketed as doping drugs, they represented just amino acids

The case against the former Belgian rider Wim Vansevenant changed essentially. An analysis illustrated that the doping preparations that were ordered by him didn’t contain the contents listed on the labels. The former rider was cheated by the company where he ordered the preparations.
Last year certain packages sent to the former athlete by an Australian company were intercepted by customs officials. It was written on the intercepted bottles that they contained the doping drug TB-500. It is a peptide hormone which is able to increase muscle power and speed healing. An investigation was started by the Belgian authorities. It was suspected that Wim Vansevenant supplied the Omega Pharma-Lotto team with doping preparations. This sportsperson rode professionally 10 years, from 1998 to 2008. Last 6 years of the career he was with this team.
An analysis of the bottles intercepted by customs illustrated that they contained only amino acids. Wim Vansevenant’s lawyer confirmed that the case had to be dropped. He pointed out that since the preparation was not linked with doping, the former rider didn’t deserve to be punished.
Johan Lescrauwaet, the prosecutor’s spokesperson claimed that the contents didn’t correspond to the name of the medication that was written on the label and to the words of the former rider.
Just amino acids were discovered in the bottles. No any doping product. So, there is no any evidence that Wim Vansevenant provided doping products to other persons.
The hearing of former professional athlete was scheduled to be later.

Will Roger Clemens thank toxicologist Bruce Goldberger?

Testimonies of the celebrated toxicologist Bruce Goldberger will probably impact essentially on decision of the court in the case against Roger Clemens. Bruce Goldberger is the Professor of Pathology and Director of Toxicology at the University of Florida College of Medicine. This specialist testified on behalf of Roger Clemens. Although he was called in order to replace Don Catlin, the director of the WADA UCLA Medicine, Goldberger’s testimonies didn’t correspond to those that are usually presented by anti-doping organizations. He testified on behalf of the accused sportsman.
Bruce Goldberger has gained his celebrity due to his appearing on different news programs. Even during such programs he doesn’t abstain from critical words. He criticized certain anti-doping agencies, including the WADA.
Bruce Goldberger expressed critical words for federal prosecutors in the case linked with Roger Clemens. They based on “beer can evidence” provided by McNamee to support that his client applied steroids and HGH. Brian McNamee, the former personal trainer of this sportsperson, presented a beer can containing utilized needles and syringes which had traces of such steroids, as Sustanon, Primobolan Depot and Deca Durabolin and were mixed allegedly with Clemens’ blood. The beer can was stored by McNamee more than 6 years. The toxicologist noted that such basis wasn’t reasonable.
Goldberger confirmed that it was impossible to base on “beer can evidence”. He added that no one could prove that Roger Clemens used steroids and HGH, basing on the beer can, because the theory of contamination could present.
Thus, Goldberger didn’t support the affirmations of the federal prosecutors. Earlier he also expressed criticism connected with evidence utilized by certain anti-doping agencies.
Some years ago the toxicologist Bruce Goldberger testified on behalf of Floyd Landis, an American celebrated cyclist, when this sportsperson appealed positives for steroids. A WADA-accredited lab situated in France discovered traces of exogenous testosterone; T: E ratio and carbon isotope ratio tests were utilized by the lab. Bruce Goldberger used similar words and criticism during the appeal linked with Floyd Landis.
Goldberger confirmed during an interview that the WADA utilized unsuitable ways and violated rights of sportspeople in order to achieve the success in anti-doping programs.
As for Floyd Landis, he lost his appeal and admitted that he had applied steroids, EPO and several other related preparations.
Nobody knows which results will be achieved by Roger Clemens. Will the federal prosecutors prove that he has lied before the Congress? Will he admit to taking prohibited drugs? Or will be the results opposite?

Photos of Roger Clemens presented by Rusty Hardin

Every baseball fan knows that Roger Clemens is accused in obstruction of justice. It is said that he has lied before Congress about usage of steroids and HGH.
Rusty Hardin, the attorney that was hired by Roger Clemens to defend him, claimed that Roger Clemens’ physical appearance didn’t change greatly before, during and after his working with the coach Brian McNamee. The attorney confirmed that this factor was a proof that Roger Clemens hadn’t administered steroids and other related medicines.
Changing in muscle size is commonly used by federal prosecutors as proof that an athlete administers steroids or/and other related products. But this tendency was not utilized during the case against Roger Clemens. No one could confirm that Roger Clemens’ muscles displayed that he had applied steroids and HGH. It is a difference between the case against Roger Clemens and that against Barry Bonds.
When it comes to the governmental case against Barry Bonds, prosecutors called many individuals in the trial that could testify that anabolic steroids promoted significant changes in physique of this person. They confirmed that application of steroids caused increase of muscle size, increased size of the head and shrinkage of testicles in Barry Bonds.
Thus, Rusty Hardin showed 4 pictures of Roger Clemens. The pictures displayed physique of Roger Clemens, including the period of time when Clemens was working with Brian McNamee. The attorney noticed that the pictures manifested that there were no changes in physical appearance that could manifest that he administered steroids and HGH.
The defense attorney for Roger Clemens noticed that the photos displayed just the process of ageing. The masseur Cheryl Redfern noticed that she didn’t observe any changes in physical appearance of Roger Clemens. Roger Clemens experienced neither back acne, nor abnormal development of breast tissue, nor dramatically enhanced muscle size.
Phil Garner a former Major League Baseball player also claimed that there were not any obvious changes in physical appearance and performance of Roger Clemens during working with the coach Brian McNamee.
The Assistant US Attorney Steve Durham put efforts to discredit the argument about lack of physical changes in Roger Clemens during the cross-examination of Garner. He confirmed that while certain steroids increased muscle size, others didn’t promote adding muscles. Thus, he confirmed that the pictures could display nothing about steroid use.
Feds desire to take advantages in both cases: in the case against Roger Clemens and in that against Barry Bonds. While they affirm that changes in physical appearance of Barry Bonds manifest that he has administered steroids, lack of physical changes in Roger Clemens doesn’t prove that he hasn’t taken steroids.

Massacre in Oslo (Norway)

Anders Behring Breivik is a murderer of over 70 persons. He bombed buildings of government in Oslo (Norway). Certain teenagers of the Workers’ Youth League camp were also murdered by this person on Utoya island in July 2011.
Anders Behring Breivik trained for the crimes essentially. He acknowledged that he had applied steroid cycles.  Since he administered steroids, these products were demonized for the deadly actions by numerous journalists.
But what did experts affirm? Joerge Moerland, a professor of forensic toxicology at the Norwegian Institute of Public Health, contested statements of these journalists. The physician Moerland confirmed that anabolic steroids didn’t contribute in the massacre. But the expert noted that he couldn’t contest that these drugs could lead to aggressiveness in the criminal.
An ECA, a combination of caffeine, aspirin and ephedrine, was also taken by the killer. In fact, this stack is commonly used by bodybuilders for fat burning and pre-workout stimulation. It was defined that the killer has taken great quantity of the combination. The amount utilized by him was by 50 % high than it is permitted under European Union’s rules.
The toxicologist Joerge Moerland noted that the murderer’s behavior was more essentially affected by the ECA than steroids. He explained that ephedrine might cause desire to be implicated in risky activities. Moerland confirmed that the murderer’s central nervous system had been affected by ephedrine.
Nevertheless, the specialist Moerland noted about limitation of the ECA’ impact. The amount of caffeine consumed by the killer was equal to about 5 cups of coffee. Thus, the quantity was not enough enhanced in order to be demonized for the crimes.
The murderer described his application of steroids and dietary supplements in details. He also recommended other individuals getting steroids at Alinshop.
The murderer noted that he didn’t like Dianabol because it was able to lead to water retention. He explained that Dianabol could add more body mass than users could carry. According to his affirmations, circa 50 % of the mass gotten because of Dianabol is liquid retention. The murderer decided to take certain combinations that were proper for his purposes.
The killer studied effects of different steroids in order to choose those who were suitable for his purposes. He affirmed that Testosterone Propionate was better than Dianabol. He also suggested that combinations of Dianabol with Aromasin or administration of Dianabol followed by intake of Winstrol could benefit essentially.
So, the killer prepared for the massacre scrupulously. He spent time in order to choose and plan steroid cycles and usage of dietary supplements. He also pondered about every detail linked with attacks and murders.
However certain persons considered that Anders Breivik was legally insane, it’s wrong. It is obvious that the crimes have been committed consciously.

Sydney Morning Herald: bodybuilders buy steroids from motorcycle gangs

According to the newspaper “The Sydney Morning Herald”, outlaw motorcycle gangs are responsible for spread of illegal steroid use in Australia. The gangs get significant profit and reduced risks.
Nick Bingham, a detective, has noted that New South Wales Police doesn’t focus on investigation linked with intake of steroids but anabolic steroids become targets of investigations, when police officers arrest motorcycle gangs for violation of other laws.
According to Nick Bingham, however New South Wales policemen don’t raid houses of gangs for steroids, they find them, when searches for weapons and stimulants are conducted.
The detective Nick Bingham has confirmed that they commonly seize such amounts of steroids from motorcycle gangs which are just for personal application. Amounts of other products that are usually found in possession of gangs are much greater than those of steroids.
Nick Bingham has noticed that criminals prefer taking anabolic steroids in order to create threatening muscular bodies. They want to look big and strong.
Although Nick Bingham is sure that gangs have steroids just for personal usage, the newspaper “The Sydney Morning Herald” doesn’t agree with his point of view. It is reported that motorcycle gangs are involved in smuggling of steroids.
Although gyms are claimed to be the main sources of steroids for bodybuilders, it is reported by “The Sydney Morning Herald” that several gyms have close connections with motorcycle gangs. The Herald confirms that many seizures made by the Australian Customs and Border Protection Service are connected directly with distribution of steroids by motorcycle gangs.
According to statements of Australian Customs, mail seizures of steroids have been enhanced essentially in comparison with past years.
More than 2, 000 seizures were made in 2009-2010 and more than 5, 000 seizures of steroids were recorded in 2010-2011.
Many seizures were linked with self-application of steroids imported by bodybuilders.

David Segui will be involved in Roger Clemens’ case

Federal prosecutors asked the judge Reggie Walton to permit the former Major League Baseball player David Segui to provide testimony in the trial linked with the case of Roger Clemens. This player had a conversation with Brian McNamee, the former coach of Roger Clemens. It is stated that they have discussed about application of steroids by the former well-known baseball player.
Brain McNamee was called to testify against Roger Clemens because he turned out to be the only person that had direct knowledge about usage of steroids and other related preparations by Roger Clemens. Moreover, he stored injection equipment: vials, syringes and needles which were allegedly mixed with the blood of Roger Clemens. DNA analysis was conducted in order to define whether the blood belonged really to Clemens.
Rusty Hardin, a defense attorney for Roger Clemens, said that the steroid evidence was thought up by Brian McNamee after the interpellation by federal prosecutors.
But prosecutors confirmed that David Segui told them that Brian McNamee said that he kept certain things as evidence of steroid use by several players in 2001. It was certain years before Roger Clemens’ former trainer became the target of the investigation.
Information presented by Segui to federal prosecutors differed significantly from that provided to Jim Baumbach, a sportswriter. His statements presented to the sportswriter were published in an article in 2008. According to that piece of news, Segui claimed that he had never discussed about steroids with his friend Brian McNamee.
David Segui learnt about implication of Brian McNamee into the trial of Roger Clemens only in 2006, when he read a piece of news in the Los Angeles Times.
Segui said openly about personal application of steroids and other related medications. He said that he had been asked many times by players of the Major League Baseball whether he had administered steroids. This person acknowledged that he had applied them. But David Segui noticed that he had never discussed about usage of steroids with Brian McNamee.
David Segui supported McNamee’s decision to store evidence about usage of prohibited preparations by his clients. According to the former first baseman of the Major League Baseball, it is a reasonable decision because sometimes innocent guys are blamed but guilty guys are covered. Thus, Brian McNamee could help to disclose the truth.
However the judge Walton was asked to permit David Segui to testify in the trial linked with Roger Clemens, the decision of the judge is not announced yet.

Voluntary Anti-Doping Agency proclaimed that Andre Berto had tested positive for Nandrolone

The professional boxer Andre Berto tested positive for Nandrolone. The Voluntary Anti-Doping Agency (VADA) conducted the drug testing.
Andre Berto had to meet Victor Ortiz on June 23, 2012 in Los Angeles. Andre Berto agreed to submit to random drug testing before the match. T: E ratio method and carbon isotope ratio testing were used; they both indicated about usage of Nandrolone.
It was already the second time this month, when the VADA tested boxers and caught them using steroids. The first of them was the boxer Lamont Peterson. He was scheduled to meet Amir Khan. It is quite ironically that Peterson requested random blood and urine testing. A carbon isotope ratio test conducted by the VADA manifested that testosterone of exogenous origin was in this fighter’s system several weeks before the match.
Financial position of several companies suffered due to tests conducted by the VADA. For example, Golden Boy Promotions lost significant potential profit due to Lamont Peterson’s positives. It was set by the CEO of the company Richard Schaeffer that the company lost 250, 000 dollars.
The cancelation of the fight between Andre Berto and Victor Ortiz will probably not influence greatly on financial position of certain promotional companies because another boxer will possibly replace Andre Berto and will meet Ortiz.
As for the boxer Andre Berto, he didn’t explain what had caused his positives. This fighter hired the attorney Howard Jacobs who would represent and defeat him.
Berto noted that he had never taken steroids. So, he confirmed that he investigated with his attorney what could lead to positives for steroids. Berto concluded that he had never cheated; he achieved success in sport due to hard workouts and dedication.
The attorney Howard Jacobs represented numerous other sportspersons who turned out to be victims of contaminated food supplements.
It is confirmed that since Nandrolone has too long half life and it is detected easily, it isn’t widespread among doping athletes. But it has been manifested numerous times that some nutritional supplements contained the compound nandrolone that caused positives for steroids. But since sometimes not every compound is written on the label, athletes become victims of contaminated dietary supplements.

Chael Sonnen will fight with a TUE

Chael Sonnen, an American mixed martial artist is allowed to take anabolic steroids. The physician Timothy Trainor noticed that this sportsman really suffered from hypogonadism.
What does this disorder represent? Hypogonadism is linked with insufficient secretion of the hormone testosterone. Doctors usually indicate testosterone replacement therapy for treatment of this disease.
This fighter has gotten a therapeutic use exemption (TUE). Thus, this fighter is allowed to use steroids for clinical purposes and fight against Anderson Silva at UFC 148 in July 2012.
According to instructions given by Chael Sonnen’s health care provider, he has to apply injections of Testosterone Enanthate and Testosterone Cypionate twice per week. The dosages which are recommended have not been revealed. But under rules of the Nevada Athletic Commission, blood serum levels of testosterone in this athlete should be within normal range on the morning after the fight against Silva.
According to the doctor Trainor, those who fight, having TUE, must be tested on the morning after the match to learn whether they have applied something right before the match.
The doctor Trainor thinks that testosterone can produce performance-enhancing effects, if it is utilized right before the fight. He states that injections must not be applied in the days before a fight in order to prevent high testosterone levels.
But it seems that the NAC doesn’t know that steroids cause benefits connected with enhancement of performance, not only if they are applied right before competitions. Intake of steroids increases performance during trainings before competitions. And the results remain even after sportspersons discontinue administering them.
Sonnen had elevated testosterone levels at UFC 117. He claimed that he had tested positive because he had been on TRT.  After his appeal the suspension was lowered to 6 months from one year. But Chael Sonnen didn’t have any TUE that time.

In spite of doping, Galabin Boevski remained to be famous in weightlifting

Galabin Boevski, a Bulgarian weightlifter, World Champion and Olympic Champion, was sentenced to nine-month imprisonment because of illegal international drug trade. This sportsman was arrested in October 2011 at the Guarulhos International Airport in Brazil after he tried to board the plane with 8 kg of cocaine. This sportsperson was headed to Bulgaria. Cocaine was estimated. It could be sold at the price of 500, 000 dollars on the streets in countries of Europe.
Galabin Boevski is a famous athlete in Bulgaria. He is claimed to be one of the most well-known weightlifters in this country.
First he was caught taking steroids in 1995. Undoubtedly, he was sentenced to suspension.
Then this sportsperson was caught using banned preparations in 2004. It was the second time when he violated doping rules. Actually, Galabin Boevski didn’t test positive for any prohibited preparations. But anti-doping officials defined that he didn’t provide own urine. The urine which was provided by this weightlifter belonged to another person. As a result, Boevski was sentenced to 8-year suspension. During serving the suspension he was caught smuggling cocaine.
Boevski became famous due to his achievements in weightlifting. This athlete won gold medals at several competitions: at the 1999 World Weightlifting Championships in Athens, the 2000 Olympic Games in Sydney and the 2001 World Weightlifting Championships in Antalya.
At the 2003 World Championships in Vancouver Galabin Boevski and his teammates from Bulgaria provided urine samples which belonged to another person. It was defined by anti-doping officials that the three urine samples were produced by one individual. These sportsmen received suspensions. Galabi Boevski appealed the suspension but it was not successful.
Galabin Boevski broke certain world records at different competitions. He held three world records. The best lifts of this athlete were following: a 162, 5 kg snatch, 196, 5 kg clean and jerk and a 357, 5 kg of two lifts at the 1999 Championships.
It is wondering but this athlete’s reputation wasn’t destroyed in Bulgaria. He applied his status of celebrity in sports in order to establish a Technogym fitness center in Sofia, the capital of Bulgaria. The center was named Atama Wellness and Spa.
Furthermore, Maria Isabel do Prado, the Brazilian judge, confirmed that Galabin Boevski applied also his status of celebrity in sports in order to traffic cocaine. She also noted that this sportsman used the participation of his daughter in a Brazilian tennis tournament in order to hide his illegal operations linked with trafficking of the narcotic.
The weightlifter Galabin Boevski confirmed that he would appeal the conviction.

Andy Pettitte presented shocking testimony at Barrett Prettyman Federal Courthouse in Washington

The desire of the federal government connected with the case of Roger Clemens was following: they hoped to prove that this athlete had lied before the Congress about administration of anabolic steroids and HGH. But the government couldn’t reach this goal. It was expected that Andy Pettitte would tell the jury that Roger Clemens had admitted that he had used the prohibited preparations during a conversation in 1999 or in 2000. But Pettitte shocked the prosecutors. This man claimed that he couldn’t confirm that Roger Clemens had used steroids and HGH because he was not sure.
In fact, why were the prosecutors shocked by the affirmation of Andy Pettittte? This person swore for the 2008 Congressional hearings on application of steroids in the Major League Baseball that Roger Clemens admitted to usage of HGH. But he presented opposite statements at the Barrett Prettyman Federal Courthouse in Washington.
Michael Attanasio, a defense attorney for Roger Clemens, asked Andy Pettitte whether he may affirm that he is 50-50 that he has misunderstood Roger Clemens about HGH. Pettitte answered that he is indeed 50-50 about this aspect.
When Clemens’ prosecutors heard the answer of Andy Pettitte, they didn’t know what to do. They affirmed that Pettitte never answered this way, when he was asked certain times.
The U. S. District Court Judge Reggie Walton noticed that he understood that Andy Pettitte’s answer has been conflicted. Actually, his statement was following: “I don’t know”.
The attorneys for Roger Clemens utilized the moment of the prosecutors’ confusion. They requested the judge to brush aside the testimony of Andy Pettitte because he was 50-50. According to the attorneys, he probably misunderstood Roger Clemens or he forgot the details of the conversation.
The government has responded that the jury still allows taking in consideration the affirmation of Andy Pettitte. ASUSA Dunham has pointed out that under federal rules jury is allowed to choose which affirmation to believe. He hopes that the jury will brush aside the testimony that doesn’t support the government.
So, the testimony presented by Andy Pettitte and his wife caused problems. Testimonies of his wife during the first trial resulted in the declaration of a mistrial by the judge Walton.
Pettitte claims that he is a friend of Roger Clemens. Clemens must also claim that they are friends after Andy  Pettitte’s last testimony.

Cullen Mutrie shot 5 police officers

Police officials raided the house of Cullen Mutrie for a drug investigation. This ma shot five police officials at his home. As a result, the Greenland Police Chief Michael Maloney was killed; four police officials were wounded. The next morning Cullen Mutrie and a woman were found dead.
It is supposed that Mutrie was utilizing anabolic steroids at the time of the shootout. Jane Young, the New Hampshire Associate Attorney General, claimed that toxicology reports were waiting in order to learn whether metabolites of steroids were in the body of this person.
Police officers affirmed that Cullen Mutrie had been a muscular person. He worked at Genetix Fitness in Seabrook. It was reported that he was 6 feet 3 inches tall. Cullen Mutrie weighed 275 pounds. During a raid which was in July 2010 law enforcement officials discovered anabolic steroids at his home. The policeman Wayne Young saw them in a coffee table. He said that he had saw a plastic bag with several vials. One vial was with powder; others contained liquid. According to the labels, they were steroids.
The New Hampshire State Crime Lab analyzed the vials. It was claimed that the vials contained such medicines, as Trenbolone Acetate, Sustanon 250, Boldenone Undecylenate and Nandrolone Decanoate.
The professor of kinesiology John Miller was asked whether a connection between the crime and “roid rage” of anabolic steroids could present. The professor affirmed that it was plausible. But according to him, it is impossible to confirm that there was a direct connection between usage of anabolic steroids and the crime.
John Miller supposed that steroids that were on the black market were provided from legitimate pharmaceutical companies. But he has been mistaken because the majority of steroids that are sold on the black market are produced in underground labs. It is even suggested that Mutrie produced steroids.
Since a connection between crimes and usage of steroids is a controversial question, not only policemen but also media investigates the case related to Cullen Mutrie.

Defense of Alistar Overeem during appeal hearing

Alistar Overeem, a UFC fighter, appealed his suspension which was received by him for intake of anabolic steroids on April 24, 2012. But he couldn’t win his appeal against members of NSAC. Alistar Overeem forfeited his license for nine months. Then Alistar Overeem will be allowed to obtain it again.
This fighter admitted that he had applied injectable testosterone that was recommended him by his physician. Alistar Overeem used the strategy that was considered to be boring. He noticed that he had never applied anabolic steroids or other related medicines knowingly. Alistar Overeem tried to make the NSAC believe that his injectable usage of steroids was accidental.
David Chenoff, the defense attorney for Alistar Overeem, is experienced in representing famous sportspersons.
David Chesnoff called the personal doctor of his client to testify during the appeal. It was supposed that Dr. Molina would testify in defense for this athlete. Testimonies of this doctor were too miserable. The doctor Molina provided an explanation for prescriptions of certain medications which resulted in Overeem’s elevated testosterone: epitestosterone ratio.
The treating doctor of Alistar Overeem admitted that he prescribed and injected this athlete with a mixture of Toradol and Dexamethasone because he suffered from an injury. Actually, these products are taken for anti-inflammatory purposes. But application of testosterone for recovery from injuries is not approved by the FDA.
It is supposed that the doctor Molina hasn’t informed his patient that these medicines contain the anabolic steroid testosterone. But it is evidentially that he has never asked about it.
Thus, testimonies of Dr. Molina turned out to display lack of the evidence related to therapeutic needs for intake of forbidden medicines by Alistar Overeem. The doctor couldn’t provide any reasonable explanation that could justify prescribing of Toradol and Dexamethasone to this athlete. Testimonies of the physician Molina worked against Alistar Overeem.
In fact, it became evident that Overeem was a victim of the health care provider’s quack.
But it is possible to suppose that this strategy was designed by the defense attorney for this mixed martial artist.
The commissioner Pat Lundval was probably impressed by the defense of Overeem. She even called him a “smart guy”.
The members of the NSAC seemed to be convinced that Alistar Overeem has been actually a great guy but he has surrounded himself with such questionable individuals, as the health care provider Moline. They advised him to find more qualified professionals in the future.
